Submissions FAQ

You do not need a finished book, an agent, or a complete creative team to approach Yo!Dara. We are looking for distinct voices and promising work that can grow through editorial development.
Do I need an account?
Yes. Create a free creator account (18+) and confirm your email. Your account is where you apply, track your status, read editor notes, and later publish your series.
Can I use AI tools?
Not to make the work. Yo!Dara does not accept AI-generated art or writing, including art made with image generators, AI-generated backgrounds or panels, AI “paint-overs” of generated images, and stories or scripts written by AI. Tools for non-creative tasks (spellcheck, grammar, research, file organization) are fine. Declare them on the application. If we find AI-generated content in an application or a published series, we’ll decline the application or remove the series.
What can I submit?
Original ManNa, comics, graphic novels, one-shots, ongoing series concepts, script or manuscript excerpts, sequential pages, character concepts, and artist portfolios.
Does my project have to be finished?
No. Finished work is welcome, but a strong premise, sample pages, script, manuscript excerpt, or portfolio may be enough for an initial editorial review.
Do I need both a writer and an artist?
No. Writers and artists may submit independently. Yo!Dara may discuss development needs or potential collaboration if a project moves forward, but no team placement is guaranteed.
Do I keep ownership of my work?
Yes. Submitting does not transfer ownership. You give Yo!Dara only the limited permission needed to store and review the material and discuss it internally. Any publication or rights agreement would be presented separately in writing.
What files can I upload?
The form accepts up to 40 PNG or JPG images, up to 10 MB each and at least 400 pixels wide. Name your pages in reading order (01.png, 02.png…). Long vertical webtoon strips are welcome. Writers paste a script or manuscript excerpt directly into the form. For everyone’s security, we no longer accept PDF or Word files. For larger projects, submit a representative sample and explain what else is available.
Can I email my submission instead?
No. Submissions are accepted only through the submission form. For security, attachments sent by email are not opened. If you emailed work before October 2026, use the form and mention your original email date in your pitch.
What happens after I submit?
You’ll get a reference number, and you can follow your application from your creator dashboard. Statuses are Received, In review, Revise & resubmit (an editor sends specific notes and you can send a revised version), Approved, or Not selected. Every decision is posted to your dashboard and emailed to you. Submission does not guarantee acceptance or publication.
How long does review take?
Review time depends on submission volume and the type of work. We do not promise a fixed response date. Keep your reference number and avoid resubmitting the same project solely to request an update.
Can I submit more than one project?
One open application at a time. Once an application is decided, you can apply with another project. Lead with your strongest, most ready work.
Can I submit previously posted or published work?
Only submit material you own or control and are authorized to offer for consideration. Disclose any prior publication, platform agreement, exclusivity, license, or collaborator rights in your pitch.
Is my submission confidential?
Submissions are stored behind staff access controls and reviewed for publishing purposes. However, submitting alone does not create a nondisclosure agreement. Do not send trade secrets or material you are not comfortable sharing with authorized editorial staff and service providers needed to operate the system.
May creators under 18 submit?
No. You must be 18 or older to submit work to Yo!Dara. Do not submit personal information beyond what the form requests.
