WHAT BELONGS ON YO!DARA
Content Policy
Effective October 18, 2026 · Draft pending legal review
Yo!Dara publishes bold, original stories, including dark, violent, and mature ones. These rules apply to every application, published series, episode, cover, profile, and link on Yo!Dara. They exist to protect readers, creators, and the people stories are about.
1. Made by you, by hand
All art and writing must be created by you and your credited collaborators. AI-generated art and writing are not accepted. This includes images made with image generators, AI-generated backgrounds, panels, or “paint-overs,” and stories, scripts, or dialogue written by AI. Tools for non-creative tasks (spelling and grammar checks, research, file organization) are fine. Disclose them when you apply.
Your work must also be yours to publish. Don’t upload work that copies another creator’s art, story, characters, or trade dress, or that uses characters or worlds you don’t own (including fan comics of existing franchises), unless you have written permission from the rights holder.
2. Age ratings
Every series carries a rating. Creators propose it, and Yo!Dara editorial makes the final call.
- All Ages: suitable for any reader. Mild cartoon action, no strong language, no sexual content.
- Teen (13+): action and peril, moderate violence with limited gore, some strong language, romance without sexual content, mature themes handled with care.
- Mature (18+): strong or graphic violence and gore, frequent strong language, drug use, disturbing themes, and non-explicit sexual content (implied scenes, partial nudity). Mature series are shown only to readers who confirm or are verified to be 18+, are kept off the homepage, and aren’t shared in link previews.
If a series is rated too low, we may change its rating or ask you to.
3. Never allowed, at any rating
- Sexually explicit content: visible sexual acts or explicit genitalia.
- Any sexual or sexualized depiction of minors. This includes characters who are under 18, who are drawn or described as children, or whose “real age” is claimed to be older while they look like children. This is zero-tolerance: the content is removed, the account is closed, and we report to the authorities where the law requires it.
- Sexual content involving real people, or any intimate imagery of a real person without consent.
- Hate: content that promotes violence against, dehumanizes, or calls for exclusion of people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or serious disease.
- Harassment or threats against real people, including targeted mockery, doxxing (sharing private information), or encouraging others to harass someone.
- Promotion of real-world violence or terrorism, including praise or recruitment for real violent groups or real attacks.
- Instructions for serious harm: realistic, step-by-step guidance for self-harm, suicide, weapons, or crimes.
- Spam, scams, malware, or deceptive links in series, profiles, or messages.
- Anything else that is illegal where Yo!Dara operates.
4. Stories can go to dark places
Fiction can depict crime, war, cruelty, prejudice, abuse, and despair. Showing something isn’t the same as endorsing it. We judge context: is the material serving the story, and is it rated and labeled correctly? Stories that depict self-harm or abuse should avoid instructional detail and may carry a content note at the start of an episode.
5. How we enforce this
- Editors review applications, and they review episodes before publishing until a series is trusted. Trusted series may still be spot-checked at any time.
- Readers can report any episode or series. Episodes with several independent reports, or any report of sexual content involving minors, may be hidden right away while we review them.
- Depending on severity, we may ask for changes, re-rate, hide an episode, hide a series, or close an account. We tell the creator what happened and why, unless the law prevents it.
- Serious or repeated violations, including repeated copyright infringement, lead to account closure.
6. Appeals
If you think we got it wrong, email [email protected] within 30 days with the series name and why. A different person than the one who made the original decision will look at it where possible. Copyright removals follow the counter-notice process on our Copyright page.
7. Changes
We may update this policy as Yo!Dara grows. We’ll post the new date here and tell creators about significant changes.
